A Small Gesture That Turned Into A Movement

The first official camp began in 2021, but the story had started earlier, with one simple act from one person. What exists today is not the result of a single effort, but of the support and participation of people who believed from the very beginning.

The Heart Of Everything We Do

Alfa Diallo

Alfa Diallo is a professional basketball player in Greece. He comes from Guinea-Conakry, where he quickly earned recognition and joined the Guinean national basketball team. A trip back to his hometown inspired him to raise funds, find sponsors, and travel to Guinea at his own expense to begin this annual Basketball Camp tradition. The government honored Alfa for his efforts with a certificate of recognition. SATISFACTION - The Prefectural and Municipal Authorities of LABE award this certificate of satisfaction to Alpha Diallo, basketball player from LABE and international player competing in Greece, in recognition of his technical and material support for young people through the influence of basketball and education in the region in general, and especially in the prefecture of LABE.

Our Story

The Beginning Of A Dream

Alfa leaves Guinea at 16 to chase his dream in Greece.

The story begins with a child who believed, chased, and worked hard for a dream. In Greece, Alfa did not only find basketball, he found a path. But he never forgot where he started. Every return to Guinea was a reminder that there were children with the same dream, but not the same opportunities. And that is how the need to give back was born.

The Beginning Of A Dream

The First Steps Of Giving

It all started with one suitcase and a few personal clothes and shoes. Small acts that brought big smiles.

Every year, Alfa returned to Guinea to compete with the Guinean national team and offered whatever he could. There was no plan yet, only intention. In 2016, friends and teammates also began to contribute. What started as a personal gesture slowly began to turn into something bigger.

The First Steps Of Giving

The Idea Becomes Reality

The first major support gave shape to the vision. The camp was born from people who believed.

In 2020, Paris Dermanis was among the first people who truly believed in this effort. By offering dozens of pairs of shoes, the idea began to take shape. The Hellenic Basketball Federation also stood beside the project from the beginning, providing equipment and helping transform a personal initiative into a real camp.

The Idea Becomes Reality

Against The Difficulties

Nothing was easy at the beginning. The needs were greater than the means.

Many children could not take part because they did not even have the basics. Transportation was difficult, and daily life was even harder. At the same time, there was doubt. Many believed it could not work. But the vision was not built on what was easy. It was built on what was necessary.

Against The Difficulties

The First Camp (2021)

With limited means, something real was created. 20 children received an opportunity.

With only EUR 3,000, 20 children were hosted for two weeks with full accommodation and meals. It was the first time the vision became reality. The camp proved that even with limited resources, you can create something that has real impact.

The First Camp (2021)

The Growth (2022)

The camp grows and reaches more children. The support becomes stronger.

In 2022, demand increased significantly. With the contribution of Kostis Zobanakis, the camp was able to host more children and offer better conditions. His support was crucial for the growth of the effort, giving the project stability and a stronger perspective.

The Growth (2022)

A Complete Camp (2023)

The camp becomes more than training. It becomes care, safety, and community.

In 2023, the camp evolved into a complete experience. Beyond sport, it offered medical care, nutrition, and accommodation. For the first time, girls also took part, opening the way for greater equality and giving everyone the chance to be part of the experience.

From Suitcases To A Container (2024)

The support goes beyond every expectation. The first container arrives in Guinea.

From two suitcases, we reached a full container filled with equipment, clothing, and medicine. All donations were gathered from people who believed in the mission and were distributed one by one, with respect and with the goal of meeting real needs.

A Life Changes

A child finds their path through the camp. An opportunity becomes reality.

Through the camp, an orphaned child stood out for talent and inner strength. That child was given the opportunity to come to Greece, train, and chase a dream. These are the moments that give real meaning to the whole effort.

A Life Changes

A Camp That Unites

Differences stay outside the court. Everyone has a place here.

In a country with many languages and cultures, the camp became a point of unity. It does not matter where you come from or which tribe you belong to. What matters is effort and the dream.

A Camp That Unites

An Organization Is Born (2025)

The vision takes official form. A team is built around a shared purpose.

In 2025, the organization was officially created, with a team that continues to grow. What began as a personal effort was transformed into a collective mission with structure, vision, and perspective.

An Organization Is Born (2025)

Expansion & New Milestones

The camp reaches more cities. The impact grows.

The actions expanded into many areas of Guinea, reaching more communities. At the same time, support also extended to other sports, helping even more young people.

Expansion & New Milestones

More Than Sport

The contribution reaches the whole society. The work continues beyond the court.

Goods were distributed to orphanages and care structures, while projects such as the construction of a well for clean water also began. In the city of Pita, a court was created in honor of Paris Dermanis, a person who believed from the beginning and left a lasting mark on the history of the camp.

More Than Sport

The Future Starts Now

The mission continues. The vision grows every year.

Each new year brings more opportunities, more children, and greater impact. The goal remains the same: to give every child the ability to dream and build their future.

Why We Try

Why We Try And What Our Goals Are

We believe that talent exists everywhere, but opportunities do not. That is why we created the camp: to give every child, regardless of where they were born or the conditions in which they are growing up, the chance to discover their passion and develop it. Our goal is to make basketball accessible to everyone, not only as a sport, but as a way forward in life. Through training, education, and daily support, we help young people build confidence, discipline, and perspective for their future. We are creating a living bridge between Greece and Guinea, carrying opportunities to the places where they are truly needed. For us, basketball is only the beginning. The real goal is to change lives. Our vision is to build a sustainable ecosystem where talent finds opportunity and every child can dream without limits.

What The Camp Is

What The Camp Is & What We Offer

Our camp is much more than a sports experience. It is a complete environment where sport meets human support. Every child who takes part does not simply come to play basketball. They come to live an experience that meets real needs in their daily life. We offer high-level training, while at the same time ensuring food, accommodation, clothing, and medical care. We create a safe environment where children can grow both as athletes and as people. At the same time, we invest in the local community by strengthening infrastructure, supporting families, and giving children the tools to continue even after the camp. For us, success is not only about creating better players, but about creating better lives.

Who Can Join

Who Can Take Part In The Camp

The camp is open to all children who have will, passion, and dreams. It does not matter where you come from, what your financial situation is, or what difficulties you are facing. What matters is the willingness to try. We give special priority to children who do not have access to sports structures or basic opportunities, while at the same time looking for talents who can grow and move one step further. In some cases, the camp also opens the door to children from other countries when talent and need make it necessary. For us, every child deserves an opportunity, and that opportunity must be fair for everyone.

How To Contribute

How Someone Can Contribute & How The Process Works

The camp exists thanks to the people who believe in it. Everyone can contribute in their own way, whether through equipment, financial support, or by covering a specific need. Even the smallest contribution can make an enormous difference. All donations are gathered in Athens, organized, and sent by container from Athens to Conakry, the capital of Guinea. From there, distribution is done personally and with care, so that every item reaches the child who truly needs it. What makes this process different is transparency. Supporters can see where their contribution goes and what impact it has. This is not an impersonal process, but a direct connection between the person who gives and the person who receives.

Our Impact

Our Impact

Our impact is visible in the smiles, the changes, and the opportunities that are created. Every child who takes part gains access to things that once felt out of reach, from a pair of shoes and a plate of food to the chance to play on a real court.

Why We Keep Going

We keep going because the camp has already shown what is possible when effort is consistent. Every year we see children gain confidence, discipline, joy, and a stronger sense that they truly deserve an opportunity.

What Our Goals Are

Our goals are to strengthen the camp year after year, support more children, improve the conditions around education, and build something steady and meaningful for the wider community.
